Ting Wong offers a straightforward, no-frills dining experience focused on traditional Cantonese and Beijing-style dishes in the heart of Philadelphia’s Chinatown. The atmosphere is functional rather than elaborate, reflecting a spot where locals come primarily for the food rather than ambiance. If you’re after an authentic taste of Chinese roast meats or a comforting breakfast, Ting Wong fits that bill well.

The restaurant is particularly known for its roast pork and roast duck served over rice, a neatly packed meal that includes a portion of vegetables and a bowl of soup, making it a satisfying lunch or early dinner option. The roast duck’s seasoning stands out, and the generous portions keep costs reasonable — which locals appreciate, especially during weekday lunch hours. Expect a steady flow of takeout orders; the self-service ordering machine near the front door adds convenience for those grabbing a quick meal.

Aside from the roast meats, the menu spans a variety of traditional choices like congee with chopped beef, shrimp cheung fun, and different beef rice entrees with Chinese vegetables. The Hong Kong-style pan-fried noodles draw praise for their balanced seasoning, though it’s clear some visitors prefer their noodles less sauced to preserve a bit of crunch. For those more adventurous, dishes like the sizzling pork intestine or pepper beef chow fun offer richer, more intense flavors.

Given the no-frills setting and cash-only policy, Ting Wong feels like a place frequented by longtime Chinatown residents and workers looking for classic Cantonese comfort food without the fuss. Mornings are a solid time for a traditional breakfast of congee and BBQ pork, while lunch rushes bring a vibrant, practical energy centered on fast, hearty meals.

In short, Ting Wong suits those who value authenticity and value over ambiance, offering a snapshot of old-school Chinese dining nestled among the bustling streets of Philadelphia’s Chinatown.

Good old-fashioned Cantonese cuisine in Chinatown Philadelphia. Nothing fancy but great food, especially theory BBQ items and congee. Great place for an authentic Chinese breakfast in the morning. You may also place to-go orders on the machine by the front door.

Food was great and served quickly. However my ribs were a bit cold/not warm but other than that the food was great and taste very good. Would recommend getting food here!

This place needs more 5 star reviews - authentic Beijing roast duck and crispy pork belly at such a cheap price (a platter for lunch was like 12 bucks!), if I lived in Philly I’d probably be going here every week. It’s cash only, so keep that in mind!

Great dishes with plenty of selections. Sizzling pork intestine is so delightful while the duck and chicken are very savory. Their vegetable noodles just got the right amount of saltiness. Highly recommended!

I love the roasted duck over rice here. The duck is very well-seasoned, and the price is so affordable. For $9 you get a plate of meat over rice with veggie and a bowl of soup. I also like the hong kong style pan fried noodle, very similar to mì xào giòn. The only thing I would do next time is ask for less sauce cuz I like my noodles crunchy. I don't recommend the cheung fun or steamed rice noodles here. It's just too much rice noodles and very little filling. Chow fun is kinda bland while lo mein is too salty. Fried rice is decent. If you go with ~3 people, you can do a meat combo, side of veggie and white rice for roughly same price as meat over rice but more food (esp veggie).

Their roasted duck is a must. We tried rice, noodles and roll with duck. Every item was super delicious! We were so impressed with the food that we went back the next day. First day, we took wonton noodles soup. The noodles tasted bland but other than that, everything was good. Broth was well seasoned. Next day, we took HK styled noodles with duck. On that, the noodles was rich in flavor. Also, the price was very reasonable compared to the other restaurants in the area.

They are courteous, efficient, and very well-priced. Most importantly, however, their food is delicious. Get any roast meat over rice and you won't regret it
